Our History
Founded in 1987
A number of churches in Santa Rosa County had a burden to help men transition from prison to productive lives. The Faith Baptist Church in Milton, Florida, who had an active jail ministry at the time, took the lead in establishing this organization. Since its inception HHM has helped hundreds of men through its City of Refuge program, as well as families in need. Victims of disaster such as fire, flood and storm have received thousands of dollars of relief from donations of food, clothes and household items. Our main goal at HHM is to honor the Lord Jesus Christ by helping the helpless, healing the hurting and providing hope for the hopeless as did He when he walked the face of the earth.
Our Purpose
The mission of Helping Hands is...
...to further the cause of Christ. Acts 10:38 , How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God waswith him. Therefore we endeavor to do good and provide support to people inneed, such as burned out or flood victims, and the homeless. We support thesepeople with distribution of food, clothing, furniture and beds, training for future employment, and whatever other needs they may have. We also supportprograms to help men get back on their feet, by not just providing their needs, but helping them to become self-sufficient in their journey through life byrestoring their sense of dignity and morality. Helping Hands also supportsChristian radio and education, and more. We are blessed to be able to support these great causes because of our donors and customers.
It is Helping Hands mission to provide quality used merchandise, such as clothing, furniture, electronics, house ware, etc., at a fraction of retail to our great customers.
